Cub Advancements

Introduction to the Cub Advancement Programme

The Cub Advancement Programme is the structured journey that helps Cubs grow in skills, confidence, and character as they move through their time in the Pack. It is designed to challenge each Cub at their own level while encouraging teamwork, creativity, service, and outdoor adventure. Advancement is not only about achieving badges, but also about living the Cub Law and Promise, developing leadership, and learning to do one’s best in all areas of life.

The programme provides a balance between fun and learning, ensuring that every Cub experiences the excitement of Scouting while developing values and practical skills that will last a lifetime. Progress is recognised through badges and awards, which serve both as milestones and as encouragement to keep striving forward.

Introducing The Cub Trail

The Cub Trail is the official guidebook to the Cub Advancement Programme. It maps out the path that every Cub follows, from the first steps as a new recruit through to achieving the Leaping Wolf badge – the highest award in the Pack.

The trail explains the stages of advancement, the requirements for badges, and the opportunities for learning along the way. It is a roadmap for Cubs, Pack Scouters, and parents alike – providing clarity on what is expected and celebrating what has been achieved.

By following The Cub Trail, each Cub is encouraged to discover their abilities, take pride in their progress, and enjoy the adventure of Scouting to the full.
