Rhinos

The Rhinos Patrol was founded in 2020 as the troop’s fourth patrol and remains the only patrol ever to be named by a Scout: Jordan Davis. From the start, we’ve built a reputation for fresh ideas and strong traditions. In 2023, after a meeting at 1st Halfway House, we became the first patrol in the troop to introduce mascots. Our mascot, Azizi, meaning precious or beloved in Swahili, represents the spirit of our patrol.

Rhinos has always been a patrol of firsts:

•First patrol in the troop to design our own T-shirts
•First patrol with an Instagram page to share our adventures
•First patrol to proudly fly our own patrol flag
•First patrol to have Patrol woggles

We’re proud to be a patrol that blends tradition with innovation, whether it’s our Instagram page, our Patrol flag, or our fresh approach to Scouting. For us, it’s about keeping the spirit of Scouting alive and exciting for everyone

Our Achievements

•Three-time winners of Patrol of the Year
•The only patrol to consistently run Mandela Day projects
•Known for our commitment to community service, because giving back matters
•The most evenly advanced patrol in the troop, every Rhino is at least 70% through Traveller
•Home to the youngest Scout in the troop to complete Discoverer, achieved in just 6 months!
