Double Honours for 1st Midrand Cubs and Meerkats
This past weekend was a proud moment for 1st Midrand, as two of our young members received the highest awards in their respective branches of Scouting.
Congratulations to Jack van Biljon who achieved the Leaping Wolf Award – the top award in Cubs. The Leaping Wolf is the highest recognition a Cub can earn and is awarded to those who show exceptional commitment, leadership, outdoor skills, community service, and personal growth during their Cub journey. It represents years of effort and learning, and only a small number of Cubs achieve it each year.
Congratulations also to Scotty Willemse who earned the Meerkat Gold Star Award – the top award for Meerkats. This award marks the completion of the entire Meerkat Trail and shows that the young Meerkat has learned teamwork, kindness, outdoor awareness, and the core values of Scouting at the earliest stage of their journey.
Both Jack and Scotty have worked hard and shown true Scouting spirit. Their achievements remind us of what dedication, fun, and living by the Scout Law can achieve, even at a young age.
Well done to them both – and to their families and Pack Scouters who have supported them along the way!
