Meerkat Mob Day 2025 – Carnival Time!

On Saturday, 20 September 2025, our Meerkats gathered for a day bursting with colour, excitement and energy at this year’s Meerkat Mob Day. With the theme “Carnival Time”, the event brought the spirit of a fairground to life — complete with games, laughter, challenges and unforgettable moments.

A Carnival of Activities

Every corner of the field had something new for the Meerkats to discover. From high-energy games to creative crafts, the children spent the day exploring and trying their hands at all sorts of carnival-style fun.

Highlights included:

• Egg-and-spoon races – a true test of balance and focus.
• Target toss, catapult games and Dunk the Duck – all-time favourites that had kids queuing for another turn.
• Craft-and-race boats – colourful creations raced down water channels, cheered on by the crowd.
• Fishing pond – patience and precision were tested as Meerkats hooked bright cardboard fish.
• Blowing challenge – using straws to blow balls across the table in a race of breath and determination.
• Obstacle course and climbing wall – encouraging courage, teamwork and plenty of determination.
• Zip line adventure – one of the biggest highlights of the day, giving the Meerkats a real taste of Scouting excitement.

And of course, wandering entertainers and a giant inflatable character added to the carnival atmosphere, spreading joy and laughter wherever they went.

Community Spirit

The day wasn’t just about games — it was about coming together as a Scouting family. Parents, leaders and volunteers helped run the stations, guided little hands, and cheered louder than anyone. Leaders in silly hats and bright costumes added even more colour to the day, ensuring that fun was the focus for everyone.

A Brilliant Day

As the Meerkats gathered in a large closing circle at the end of the day, it was clear just how special this event had been. Smiling faces, tired legs and plenty of stories to share made it a day to remember.

Meerkat Mob Day 2025 truly lived up to its “Carnival Time” theme — fun, laughter and adventure from start to finish. A huge thank you to all the organisers, Scouters, parents and, most of all, our wonderful Meerkats who made the day such a success.
